S1C6: A Pile of Rubble and Wires
To my loyal subjects (who love and adore me),
I think I just struck terror into the hearts of the Culties. I told the world that I am relentless, that I will stop at nothing to win this war. They should all fucking quake in their leaf-covered tunics at the mere thought that I might go after their territory.
After I secured the exterior of Overwatch, our efforts to secure the lobby were unsuccessful. I had the aerial troops drop in on the roof. However, we were blindsided by the Culties and their anti-aerial lasers. They completely wiped out our aerial troops. That was when I decided that the Governed were done playing games.
I rigged the exterior building with heavy-duty explosives and welded the door shut (some of our troops were still inside, but I’ll make sure their noble sacrifice is commemorated for like a week or something). I then triggered the explosives and completely levelled the building. Now, there is a smoking crater where the skyscraper once stood.
This wasn’t just me letting my frustration out on modern infrastructure, but a message to everyone in the dome. Don’t get in the way of the Governed.
While we celebrate my victory, we can’t keep our eyes off the other factions. There have been some unnerving movements as of late. The Underworld Collective have taken over the Reeds, pushing out the Culties and embarrassing them all in one swoop. The Cultivation Society have fought back, claiming half of Rivers End in a desperate charge. The Oasis Network hasn’t made any moves, which is really concerning as well.
I’m not sure how much longer these areas will be destabilised for so we need to strike while the iron has been napalmed into oblivion.
From here, we have a few choices:
The Reeds - Small and recently destabilised. The only downside to this is that the territory isn’t particularly strategically useful.
The Roots - The Cultivation Society has the majority of its army stationed there. It would be a tough fight, but it would catch them completely off guard. The Culties would also be squished between us and the Underworld Collective, making the rebels finally useful.
The Crates - The Cultivation Society’s main headquarters. They will fight tooth and nail for this place, but the strategic value of it is astronomical. If my army conquers the greenhouses, we can get our hands on Dionea.
Valhalla - This was recently conquered by the Oasis Network and serves as their smelting factory. This would give my troops the ability to attack the Circuits from another angle.
The Smoke - The Smoke is the main production factory for the Oasis Network. Taking this would mean that I could restart production on our robot army. However, this would likely lead to a prolonged and bloody offensive.
Rivers End - The recent fighting means we can slip in easily and recreate the War of Rivers End from last year. Now that the Alliance of Fire and Vines has dissolved, the two factions can’t rely on a united front to kick us back.
The Circuits - The Black Market hub of Atlaunder and one of the biggest resources in the Underworld Collective’s arsenal. There are tunnels under the market that connect throughout the dome. This would allow us to deploy resources to whichever territory we wanted in the dome. I even have an idea that I will reveal to you if you choose this option.
As always, we can fortify a territory, but that will mean letting this opportunity slip through our fingers. It might be worth it if it means researching new defences though.
As always, the choice is yours. Just make sure you’re smart enough for me to take credit for it, yeah?
