S1C1: A Fun Little Trick
To my loyal subjects (who love and adore me),
It’s been a while since we last had a chat. There has been so much going on in my day to day and I apologise for not making enough time for you between running my empire and ordering servants around (I know, I’m a workaholic).
I have some amazing news to start off this little broadcast. Atiley Ona is the only cell leader alive in the Underworld Collective (exciting, I know). However, this wasn’t one of our operations that caused this.
A new faction has emerged from the Smoke. The androids have revolted and are now gathering under the name “The Oasis Network” (whatever the hell that means). Their leader is the factory’s security AI, “KH47UN” or Khatun in non-nerd speak. She has declared us all intruders in her factory and asked us to submit to the robots to become a part of the “Organic Subnet”. I have no clue what she’s talking about, nor the care to find out.
Just to be safe, I started EMP bombing our border with the Smoke because unlike the Council of 20, I knew that robots don’t like to be overloaded with electricity.
Speaking of the Council, I have discovered the most fun trick: Blame the incumbent!
“God Emperor Jerit, our roads are crumbling? Why won’t you fix it?”
“Don’t look at me, the Council of 20 siphoned to infrastructure fund to pay for their lavish apartments.” This is blatantly untrue but who’s going to refute it.
“God Emperor Jerit, why haven’t you purged the rebels yet?”
“The Council of 20 have been secretly funding the Underworld Collective and giving them intel all along.” Again, utter bullshit.
“God Emperor Jerit, how come there isn’t enough drinkable water?”
“The Council of 20 drained the water tanks before they were pushed out the window.” Completely false. I used up the water to wash my Imperial Motorcade.
People believe it though which is the funniest thing because whenever I blame the incumbent, it works every time.
Anyhooo, what else has happened?
Oh yeah, the Oasis Network have invaded the Circuits. The Underworld Collective are still reeling from losing almost their entire command structure and are now on the backfoot. This is a great time to strike.
If we were to proceed with attacking the Underworld Collective or Cultivation Society, we should choose a suitable target.
Our targets range from:
The Circuits. This would be a ginormous win for us but we will meet hostile forces from both sides and that could get extremely messy. It sounds like fun though so I’ll consider it.
Rivers End. The water plant is still guarded by both territories so it could be advantageous to attack this so we can cripple the Cultivation Society by shutting off their water. However, this is still a tough fight so there is quite a big risk of failure.
The Smoke. Although it is quite enticing, giving us the ability to knock out this new faction early, this would be the toughest fight yet. The factory had its security upgraded and a 24/7 defence system. We could maybe eek out a victory but it seems unlikely.
The Reeds. This would be a great victory and is moderately challenging to pull off but still doable. It would give us access to a secondary water source and allow us to get the Cultivation Society off our borders a bit. This is still risky but it would be beneficially for us in future. It might also be a good propaganda piece because it was the first territory that we lost.
So there are your choices, go do what you do best and make my decisions for me!
