S1C4: The Rush of Water

Greetings from the Sea of Many

This is one of the most humiliating days in the history of the Cultivation Society.

We have managed to lose ground in both Rivers End and the Reeds.

The Governed have created a border around the territory they gained and began construction on top of the blood and ash of thousands of followers.

They are calling this new territory Jeritopia. While we are unsure of Jerit’s intentions behind the new territory, one thing is clear. The Governed are mocking us.

In regards to Rivers End, the Underworld Collective were able to barrel through our forces. First, we attempted to advance but were repelled by fire. The battlefield became chaotic, our soldiers became too desperate to hold their ground that they refused orders to retreat.

Even attempting to deploy squadrons of troops in multiple areas to create skirmishing parties did nothing to halt the advance.

We were able to hold our ground in a sliver of the territory but we will not be able to hold out for long.

This has given us pause. The Underworld Collective might not shut off our water but it’s a risk we can not take with Dionea’s condition. We must find an alternate water source or else Dionea will surely die.

The small holding that we have in the Reeds is enough to sustain her for now but when that dries up, Dionea will suffer immensely.

We have a few options in regards to how we can recover more water.

The Smoke has a large reserve of water to cool down their machinery and for general manufacturing purposes. This would be extremely hard to infiltrate as we can not influence the Android Army. However, the actual quality of the water might vary as its source has not yet be determined. This water might not be suitable for Dionea.

We could attempt to explore deeper into the Roots. We would need to dig deeper than ever and Miner’s Grace will be needed in abundance. Launching an expedition like this is likely to be dangerous and will leave one of our territories unguarded. However, we have control over this environment and there will be little to know bloodshed.

Attacking Rivers End or Jeritopia is still in play but the resistance of the Underworld Collective and the Governed respectively might be too great to overcome. This isn’t guaranteed though, if we played it safe and picked our battles, we could claim back just enough to ensure Dionea’s survival.

The choice is up to you all, this is our time of need and I know that must weigh heavy on you all.
