S1C2: A Gain and a Loss
To those with our cause in their hearts,
We have some good news and bad news for you.
Let’s start with the good news. Despite the fact that our EMP Cannons weren’t slowing them down, the Oasis Network have been entirely pushed out of the Circuits. We were able to repel their entire western advance, squeezing them with troops from Level 99 and Valhalla. From there, we beat them back to the Smoke.
While we have clutched victory from their metal hands, this attacked show that are military is entirely unprepared for fighting androids. We will need to research and develop new methods of crushing the android threat.
On the other hand, we have the bad news, the Cultivation Society have betrayed us. They were able to invade the main water plant at Rivers End, entirely breaking the treaty. We were so focused with the Oasis Network that our Intel team let this slip by them.
Our ground forces were able to repel some of their attacks on the exterior towers so we have some water that will last us a while. It’s the only boon that I can think of in this horrid situation.
I can’t say I didn’t expect this coming but it’s still a major blow to our revolution.
From here, I can see two options:
We could repel the advancing Cultivation Society in Rivers End, killing their momentum and even potentially gaining some territory back. The last thing we need is getting our water cut off but this could mean opening us to further attacks by either the Governed or the Oasis Network. This is essentially gambling that both factions have their eyes on other prizes.
We could invade the Smoke, drilling down into the new faction while they’re seemingly on the back foot. However, we would meet an ungodly amount of resistance. We were barely able to push them back in the Circuits, but they could be more resource depleted than their presenting. This would be one of the riskiest plays of the entire war but it would give us quite the advantage. This also leaves us open to attacks from the Governed and Rivers End would almost definitely fall.
I’ve trusted your judgement this far, show me I wasn’t mistaken in doing so.
