S1C5: Control and Morality

To those with our cause in their hearts,

What we have gained far outweighs what we had to lose to achieve it.

We evacuated the last of the troops in Valhalla to help with the efforts at Rivers End. This allowed the territory to be taken by the Oasis Network, despite the valiant efforts of those who stayed to fight the androids till the very end.

I led the evacuation efforts and moved all of our troops through to Rivers End, where they bolted through in a pivotal second wave. At this point, the Cultivation Society were giving us hell in the northern section of the treatment plant and the easternmost water tower. After the second wave hit, we were able to focus our efforts on retaking the northern sector.

While this was happening, the Cultivation Society pulled its troops from the water tower and into the Roots. From there, we took the rest of the territory.

Now that we have the territory, I need to act on something that makes me severely uncomfortable. You all voted to shut off the Cultivation Society’s water. This might cause harm to a lot of people, but it may be necessary to force the cultists to negotiate.

The Teeth of Dionea is unlikely to meet with me unless Dionea is truly at risk. We will notify the Cultivation Society that their water is being cut off and see how they respond.

We need to choose a target for our next offensive.

The Reeds is a good option as it’s an easy way to extend our reach and potentially envelop Atlas. While it isn’t heavily guarded, it would be a hard territory to defend, as all the other factions have a border with the territory. This could be a potential powder keg if we were to take it.

The Roots is a good option if we want to cut off the Cultivation Society from their secondary home. However, the resistance we’d face from the Cultivations Society would be animalistic. They won’t give this up until they are either wiped out or Dionea dies. Both are highly unlikely.

Valhalla would be a good option as it would halt the Oasis Network’s production. However, the territory is now even harder to reclaim, as they have transformed the houses into a gigantic factory. We might be able to claim a chunk of the territory and hold it long enough to draw a new border, similar to what the Governed did with the Reeds. It will be a tough fight, but it might be possible.

The Smoke and Atlas would be two massive targets, but they will both be heavily defended by their respective factions. The Oasis Network will pile up android bodies to protect their home, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Jerit ran civilians through the streets with bombs strapped to their chests to stop us.

I know I should trust your judgment to get us through this harrowing time. Please prove that my faith in you is well placed.
