S1C2: A World for the Prophet
Greetings from the Sea of Many
Our preparations for the arrival of the Prophet has begun.
Our first act was to dissolve the Alliance of Fire and Vines. We were able to sneak our troops into the main water plant in the dead of night. From there, we were able to capture the control room, overseer office, and main floor.
We had our troops disguised as plant workers, disguising our invasion as routine maintenance work. We kept deaths to a minimum to keep the operation under wraps.
However, as soon as we attempted to capture the exterior towers, the alarm sounded. A fight broke out on the factory floor and all hell broke loose. The Underworld Collective caught onto what we were doing and begun moving troops to counter our invasion.
The Underworld Collective were able to re-gain a small handful of western towers but otherwise, we’ve both been gridlocked.
We have another upsetting development in the Reeds, the Governed have invaded the area again.
This time, they were much more successful than the last, being able to capture the town and a cluster of southern regions. The Governed dropped troops in the centre of the town, massacring the residents indiscriminately. We were unable to repel the attack in time so they have taken quite a large chunk of territory.
This is only a slight hinderance, the greater problem pertains with what the Governed plans to do with the territory that they have gained thus far. They now have a way of reliably transporting troops to Overwatch. Losing Overwatch could be crippling for our information efforts so it would be best to avoid that.
From here we have two options:
We could focus our efforts on securing Rivers End. This would deprive them of water, putting them on the backfoot. The problem with that however is that they will fight like hell to keep that from happening. The battle will be brutal but it might just be what is needed to put them in their place.
We could launch a ginormous counter attack against the Governed in the Reeds. This would prevent them from advancing into Overwatch. They will fight back against this but it would be a worthwhile victory. This would divert resources from Rivers End but that might just be worth it to beat back the Governed.
We have two incredibly difficult fights ahead of us so this choice will effectively decide the fate of both territories.
I implore you to choose wisely.
