S1C7: Backed Into the Corner

To those with our cause in their hearts,

Both factions have closed in on us in ways I did not expect. Both Rivers End and the Circuits are in jeopardy.

The assault began in Rivers End, where we pushed from the halfway line and attempted to gain some more ground. The Cultivation Society bolstered its forces with a reserve battalion from the Roots while they attacked the Reeds. Thankfully, our troops in the Reeds held the line and even pushed up into Rivers End.

The Cultivation Society have managed to take almost 70% of Rivers End, not even our fire bombs were enough to stop the advance.

While this was happening, both the Oasis Network and the Governed attacked the Circuits. It didn’t seem like a coordinated attack because the Oasis Network essentially ran headfirst into our EMP Cannons while the Governed were busy flooding the tunnels with sewage. I have no clue what Jerit’s goal was there because he immediately sent a battalion of troops into the tunnels that immediately died of radiation poisoning.

We managed to beat back the Oasis Network, but then a colossal wave of Governed drop ships descended on the Circuits, landing troops directly into the line of fire of our EMP rounds. They completely overwhelmed our defences and carved out the southern sector of the territory for themselves.

These seem like dark times for our rebellion, but rest assured, we can bounce back from this. We just need to make an extremely difficult choice. We need to push our full weight to one territory and abandon the other.

Rivers End is a vital resource for water, but the fight for it will be furious and likely drawn out. The battle for that river might be a major resource, and it might just be worth the risk of leaving the Circuits to fend for itself in the meantime.

The Circuits is a territory that has been Level 99’s shield for about a decade. If the Governed take control of the Circuits, Level 99 is on its own. While the Circuits might not be as important in a resource sense, it acts as an important buffer between Level 99 and Atlas. If that barrier falls, we may be in a world of trouble.

So we need to decide what’s more important: resources or protection? That’s for you to decide.
