S1C9: Luck Dried Out
To those with our cause in their hearts,
Unfortunately, most of our luck was used up last battle. We’re not entirely at a loss, but a wall was thrown in front of our momentum.
Despite taking over River’s End for ourselves, the Culties pushed back and managed to re-infiltrate. At the very least, we have begun infiltrating The Roots. While it seems to be somewhat of a fair fight over there, the Society has blocked our reinforcements from aiding our squad. The strategy is to bring some of our troops from The Circuits over to River’s End to keep our district and help as back up in The Roots. If we take the entire North we can begin a downward attack to free every living soul in this godforsaken dome.
It doesn’t help that Jerit is constantly putting his thumbs in pies that aren’t his, stealing The Reeds from us and taking out our men close to Atlas. From now on, we must make sure that future fighters going across River’s End keep a safe distance from Jerit’s HQ, not until we find a way to take back The Reeds.
While I’m not celebrating those robots making advancements, I can’t help but cackle knowing that Jerit was so invested in protecting Atlas that he didn’t see The Oasis Network steal his titular Jeritopia away from him. Serves the bastard right.
We are keeping a close eye on Valhalla, and we have troops stationed to resist any incoming Oasis scum.
Our main priority, however, is to take River’s End back and claim The Roots. The Reeds is also in our periphery, but an option to take Overwatch first, so we can further surround it, can be worthwhile. This is a future strategy that we are keeping in mind.
We were lucky before, but shame on me for thinking we could ride it out. But who am I kidding? If we had luck, we wouldn’t be fighting for our lives. Luck is reserved for the privileged. But no matter… we will rightfully earn our freedom in no time.
Atiley, out.
